  Symptoms of whiplash injuries don't normally appear right after an accident. It may be 12 hours or more before you actually begin to feel the effects and even then they are not normally at their worst on first appearing. It is fairly common for whip lash to display itself a good few days after trauma and the whiplash symptoms to look for are: pain and stiffness in your neck along with possible swelling which can restrict the full range of movement you would normally have. Headaches are also a common side effect of the stress on your neck. Other possible symptoms include pain in the lower back, pains or numbness, pins and needles in the arms or hands, muscle spasms, dizziness, tiredness, difficulty swallowing, blurred vision and ringing in the ears (tinnitus). Loss of memory is rare but has been reported
